Overview
Demonstration circuit 432 is a high-efficiency synchronous step-down converter utilizing the LTC1875 or LTC1879 monolithic switching regulators. The LTC1875 version (DC432B) supports an input range of 2.65V to 6V with a 1.5A output current, making it suitable for Li-Ion applications. The LTC1879 version (DC432A) supports up to 10V input with a 1.2A output current. Both devices operate at a nominal 550kHz frequency, which is externally adjustable up to 750kHz. The board provides jumper-selectable output voltages of 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V, alongside a provision for a custom output voltage setting via an optional resistor.
