Overview
This application note details the EVAL_1K4W_ZVS_FB_SMD evaluation board, a 1400 W DC-DC converter for server applications using a Phase-Shift Full-Bridge (PSFB) topology. Converting 400 V to 12 V, it achieves 97 percent peak efficiency and a power density of 3.70 W/cm³. The design features the 600 V CoolMOS CFD7 Super-Junction MOSFETs, 60 V OptiMOS 5 Synchronous Rectifiers, and EiceDRIVER gate drivers. Control is implemented via an XMC4200 microcontroller, supporting peak current mode control, burst mode, and safety protections including OCP, OVP, and UVP. The board utilizes an all-SMD solution with innovative magnetic and cooling concepts.
