Overview
This document describes the design, setup, and operation of the evaluation boards for the ADAU1962A (12-channel) and ADAU1966A (16-channel) high-performance, low-power multibit sigma-delta DACs. The evaluation system includes the USBi control interface for I2C or SPI communication via a PC-based GUI. Hardware features include an integrated S/PDIF receiver with RCA and optical connectors, discrete serial audio interfaces, and eight stereo TRS mini jacks for analog output. The board utilizes on-board regulators to derive 5 V and 3.3 V rails from an external 12 V DC supply. The guide provides detailed hardware configuration instructions for standalone mode, master clock (MCLK) routing, and internal regulator setup, along with complete schematics and a full bill of materials.
