Overview

The DC1880A demonstration circuit showcases the LTC2874, a quad Hot Swap controller and physical layer (PHY) designed for IO-Link master applications. The board operates from an external 8V to 30V supply and interfaces with a PC via the DC590 USB serial controller using SPI protocol. It features four independent ports with screw-terminal blocks and IO-Link connectors, protected by 36V TVS diodes. The circuit includes an onboard LDO (LT3012) to derive the logic supply from the input voltage and an RS-232 transceiver (LTC2802) for serial data communication. Users can evaluate performance and configure registers using the QuikEval software or a Linduino One development board.
